When I set out to write a post on sequins, and more specifically which pieces I particularly love and how I would pair them, I had no idea how hard it would be! While I was trying to find pieces I liked, all I did was create major envy as there were so many obscenely beautiful choices! Finally, after struggling to reduce my picks to a reasonable number, I gave up and added 2 more picks. This brings the total to .. um.. 15.
I’m going to start with this simple yet gorgeous Zara top (here). This is an excellent choice for people who don’t want to draw to much attention but at the same time don’t want to go unnoticed. I would pair it with jeans or black trousers to keep the outfit simple and really let the top shine !
You can decide to take it up a notch with this Rodarte camisole (here). I’m utterly obsessed with this top and would pair it with jeans (as usual!).
This Saint Laurent sweater (here) provides for the perfect twist on the popular French look. I would pair it with leather pants or jeans and brogues or ballet flats. And red lipstick of course.
I’ve always had a bit of an obsession with shorts. They are comfortable and make your legs look great! What more could a girl want? And one would certainly turn a few heads with these Ashish sequin shorts (here). As they are already quite eye-catching, I would keep the rest of the outfit simple. Perhaps a black top and black brogues. Or a simple white tee.
The sequins on this Needle & Thread skirt (here) are very discreet making this the perfect skirt for anyone who doesn’t really want to commit to anything too striking. And it’s way too pretty not to be included in my list.
Slightly less discreet is this French Connection skirt (here). I love the black and white look and would pair it with a discreet black top.
Simple design but striking result. This could be used to describe this 1. STATE skirt (here). I would pair it with a delicate white top and trainers for a wearable day look.
if ever someone wants to pull out all the stops, look no further than this Alexis Estelle top (here). Even though the sequins are barely noticable in the picture, it’s a different story under the light. I would pair it with light blue jeans for a day look and a high waisted black skirt for a night out.
I remember exactly where and when I fell in love with Alice + Olivia. It was in Harrods, during the winter sales two years ago. And this top (here) is a simple reminder of my undying love for the brand. I would pair it with light blue jeans (yes again, I know!).
This 3.1 Phillip Lim top (here) is another pick that would be great for anyone who doesn’t want to go full sequin. It’s beautiful and discreet. Since I pair pretty much anything with jeans (as you’ve probably noticed), I would do the same with this beauty.
This dress (here) combines my love for shift dress and sequins. In other words, it’s perfect. I would either pair it with black heels (to look elegant) or with converses (to look cool!).
This Markus Lupfer beanie (here) is, without a doubt, my favorite pick. I would pair it with everything as, if I had it, I would be wearing it ALL THE TIME !!
Growing up, I used to be obsessed with Vanessa Bruno bags as all the cool girls in my high school had one. Now that I’m older (and wiser!), I’ve taken it down a notch, whilst still liking the design. If I had bought one whilst I was still in high school, that would have been seen as succumbing to peer pressure … but now, I might just be tempted by this one (here).
These ultra-extravagant Saint Laurent sequined boots (here) simply could not be left out. However, I doubt I would go walking my dogs in the muddy forest in these gems…
To finish with a bang, I propose these Tory Burch espadrilles (here). I absolutely love the color and the style. I would pair them with light blue jeans or shorts and a white tee.
